I am so excited to share this post with you this week! It is a product review of some knitting needles which I was SO excited to receive. I spoke before when I knitted this hat that I really wished I had some interchangeable knitting needles. In fact, I think I would have avoided making it the wrong size if I had this set to take away with me. Instead of being asked if I would like to review these, they were at the top of my birthday wishlist and I actually asked if they would like to send me some… so you know that I really REALLY wanted to try these! I used them to make this yummy sweater!
This set is the Pony Colour interchangeable set with sizes 5-7mm included. As well as five sets of aluminium pins, it also comes with stoppers for the ends, a connector to link two cables and three cables in different sizes (60cm, 80cm, 100cm).
I used these to make an Ursa Sweater which has been on my to-make wishlist since the pattern was released a little while ago. I ordered some Sirdar Peru yarn in Blanket Blue off eBay and got 7 balls for a bargain £9 including postage! If you are on a budget and are prepared to sometimes wait for what you want, you can get some real bargains on there! I knew I wanted to make a navy blue Ursa to wear over my Metamorphic dresses and my Ellis dress.
The needles were a bit odd to use at first, I was previously using wooden circulars as they were the cheapest ones I could get and these metal ones are so slick in comparison! I specifically asked for metal ones as I like the feel of them but I had forgotten just how different they would be to use. At first, I kept sliding stitches off the needles as they are just so slick! Fortunately, I noticed every time and luckily managed to not drop any stitches! It only took a few rows before I got used to the new needles and when I did they made my knitting SO much faster – the yarn just slides off the needles and I really got into a good rhythm!
This sweater is made up in chunky yarn and is cropped so when combined with these slick needles it absolutely flew off them! I made it in under three weeks! I am a relative beginner and I really enjoyed learning half brioche stitch and felt like the pattern held my hand throughout. This was also my first time knitting a top-down sweater in the round and again I found the pattern easy to follow and enjoyed the making of it immensely.
I felt super cheeky actually going out there and asking for these but I felt like it would be so great for my readers to know I am always trying to review things that I love and genuinely am excited about. I cannot believe this gorgeous set is mine and I love that it comes in a cute little case for me to carry around with me.
Also – how cute is this little pony?!
I am actually excited for the weather to cool down so I can start getting some real wear out of this jumper – it goes with so much in my wardrobe I can see it getting worn loads and I enjoyed knitting it so much that I can’t wait to get something else cast on to my new needles!
If you are interested in these knitting pins and have any questions, please don’t hesitate to email groves@stockistenquiries.co.uk and they will get back to you!
Disclaimer: ⭐️Knitting Needle set was provided free of charge in exchange for a review. I chose the needles and what to make with them. All opinions are totally my own, and I wouldn’t recommend something I didn’t like!
