Polka Dot Arielle

I was generously sent 1m of Stretch Cotton Sateen to review by Minerva Crafts and I chose to make a Tilly and the Buttons Arielle Skirt out of it. I paired the navy blue polka dots with some yellow buttons – I just love the navy and yellow combination!

This was my first time really making something quite fitted on my bottom half and it wasn’t too hard. I think I might even brave making trousers soon! I also think this make does get some points for being somewhat sustainable as the buttons were bought from Oxfam when we were on holiday and I spend ages filtering through jars of buttons (yes, I really know how to rock the hell out of a good holiday!)  I even managed to find seven of these flat yellow shank buttons so I have a spare one in case I lose one.

I love this skirt and have already worn it loads since I made it. If you want to read the full blog post all the details are here on the Minerva Crafts Blog.
