If you follow the Sewcialists then you will know that it’s #sewstripes month! I was really lucky to respond to a call for contributors for them and made a very special stripey Collins Top especially for a guest post on the Sewcialists blog!
The pattern I chose is the Collins Top by In the Folds which is absolutely perfect for stripes! I really committed to my new mantra of slow sewing with this garment as I made the inside look as nice as the outside. In fact, this is the only garment I made in January – I made the slippers and tailor’s hams but because of how long it took me to make my own bias binding / do all flat-felled seams inside / Hong-Kong bind the back seam and facings as well as bind the hem, there wasn’t any time for me to make anything else! And I’m not mad about it – I thoroughly enjoyed the sewing and all the attention to detail and feel it’s a really sustainable way for me to enjoy sewing without churning out loads of garments!

Anyway, here are a few pictures of the top I made but you will have to head over to the Sewcialists blog here to read all about it.

Don’t forget to get all the details on this top here on the Sewcialists blog!
The finishing inside this shirt is so beautiful! The outside looks great, too!
